Agreed The NBA’s Toronto Raptors expect to sign free-agent center Rasho Nesterovic. Nesterovic’s agent, Bill Duffy, wrote in an e-mail to The Associated Press on Saturday that the former Indiana Pacer has agreed in principle to a one-year, $2 million deal. The 7-footer from Slovenia started 19 games for the Pacers last season and averaged 6.8 points and 3.4 rebounds.

Signed The NBA’s San Antonio Spurs have signed center Theo Ratliff. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The 6-foot-10 Ratliff spent last season with the Philadelphia 76ers, averaging 1.9 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.02 blocks in 12.6 minutes while appearing in 46 games. Ratliff is one of seven players in NBA history to lead the league in blocks in at least three seasons.

•The NFL’s Cleveland Browns have signed center Alex Mack, the first-round draft pick from California. The All-American was awarded the Draddy Trophy in 2008, given to college football’s top scholar-athlete, and was a two-time Rimington Trophy finalist, given to the nation’s top center.

•The Pittsburgh Steelers agreed to terms on a five-year contract with first-round draft choice Ziggy Hood, a defensive lineman from Missouri drafted 32nd overall. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.

•Defenseman Derek Morris is the newest member of the NHL’s Boston Bruins, joining them one day after the team traded another veteran defenseman, Aaron Ward. The Bruins announced that the free agent, who finished last season with the New York Rangers, had signed a one-year contract.

Inducted Former UConn star Rebecca Lobo has become the first Connecticut player inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame, leading a class of six inductees. She was joined in the Class of 2010 by Olympic great Teresa Edwards, Teresa Weatherspoon, Chris Weller, Gloria Ray and Leta Andrews.

Waived Linebacker John DiGiorgio was waived by the NFL’s Buffalo Bills for failing his physical after having season-ending surgery to repair bone damage in his right knee.
