Indian classical dance at Bing

From Staff Reports

An evening of Indian classical dance will be presented Friday at 7 p.m. at the Bing Crosby Theater, 901 W. Sprague Ave.

Niraja Ganesan will be accompanied by her student dancers, as well as a vocalist, violinist and percussionist.

Ganesan began studying bharatanatyam, India’s oldest classical dance form, at age 5 and performed extensively both in India and abroad. She moved to the Tri-Cities in 2005 and set up her own classical dance and music school.

Her mother, Chitra Ganesan, will be the main vocal artist for the performance.

Tickets are $10 at the door (free for children under 5 accompanied by an adult). Indian snacks will be available for purchase from 6 to 6:45 p.m.
