Three men die in weekend crashes
Three men were killed in separate traffic crashes over the weekend in Eastern Washington and North Idaho.
The most recent collision occurred Sunday night on U.S. Highway 95 near Bonners Ferry. Keith L. Blockham, 48, of Bonners Ferry, was headed north on the highway at mile post 518 when he lost control of his 1980 Chevrolet El Camino, going off the east shoulder and rolling the vehicle once around 9:30 p.m., Idaho State Police said. Blockham died at the scene.
Police said alcohol was apparently a factor. Blockham was not wearing a seat belt.
On Saturday, James C. Mitchell, 48, of Athol, was killed about 2 p.m. while riding his 1994 Kawasaki motorcycle on Prichard Creek Road at mile post 4.
State police said he was headed west when he crossed the center line on a curve and lost control of his motorcycle. Mitchell went into the path of a 1999 Dodge Ram pickup driven by a 51-year-old Silverton man, who was not hurt.
Another accident Saturday on U.S. Highway 2 in Creston killed William C. Glover Jr., 59, of Star City, Ark. He was headed west when his vehicle went off the road to the right and struck a culvert, rolling over and partially ejecting Glover. He was not wearing a seat belt.
