Washington at Notre Dame

KICKOFF: 12:30 p.m. at Notre Dame Stadium, South Bend, Ind.

Records: UW 2-2; Notre Dame 3-1

TV/Radio: NBC/1280-AM

Overview: On his first trip as an assistant coach to South Bend, Ind., Steve Sarkisian hit all the sights: Touchdown Jesus, the College Football Hall of Fame, everything that makes a trip to Northern Indiana part of college football nostalgia.

Then Southern California went out and got smacked by the Fighting Irish 27-16 in 2001.

“I think you can make the mistake of going there and treating it like a vacation,” Sarkisian said. “We won’t do that. This is a business trip.”

Notre Dame’s name holds a certain level of reverence for the Washington players, all of whom will be playing the Irish in South Bend for the first time.

Notre Dame is 7-0 against Washington and won the last four meetings by at least 19 points. Notre Dame won 54-20 in 1996, 38-3 in 2004, 36-17 in 2005 and 33-7 last year.
