Benefit planned for teen center
The Tango Café and Panhandle State Bank will host a dinner and auction Saturday to benefit Sandpoint Teen Center, “A Home Away from Home.”
The event will be held at the cafe, 414 Church St. An opportunity to view the auction items will begin at 5 p.m.; dinner will be at 6 p.m.; and the live auction will begin at 7 p.m. The evening will include live music by Scott Kirby.
Auction items include the Brazilian rosewood piano donated by John Broadwood and Sons, which Kirby will “borrow” to provide the evening’s entertainment. Other items include a one-week stay in a condominium in Stockholm; a two-night condominium stay at Schweitzer for up to 16 people; a two-night stay at Rose’s Bed and Breakfast in Mukilteo, Wash.; artwork and handmade quilts.
The teen center is an after-school “home” for teens, providing mentoring, tutors, meals and games. Funds from the benefit will help purchase new supplies and pay for meals.
