He’ll be a no-show that day

Jon Stewart is getting a key to the city of Bellingham – but he won’t be traveling to Washington state to accept it.

Mayor Dan Pike says Stewart’s representatives told him that the “Daily Show” host appreciated the offer to come get the key, but was too busy to accept.

Pike made the offer after the mayor of Mount Vernon, Wash., decided to give conservative Fox News commentator Glenn Beck a key to that city.

Surviving the system

On the celebrity legal beat, first-season “Survivor” winner Richard Hatch on Friday completed a federal sentence for evading taxes on his $1 million winnings.

And a judge granted Lindsay Lohan’s request to extend her three-year probation another year after her substance abuse treatment program notified the court she was missing meetings.

But prosecutors warned her that they would seek jail time if she stumbled again.

Reality bites back

The TLC network has sued Jon Gosselin for breaching his contract as a star of the hit reality show “Jon & Kate Plus 8.”

The suit alleges that Gosselin “entered a lucrative arrangement to appear regularly on ‘Entertainment Tonight’ and its companion show, ‘The Insider,’ to discuss his family and the problems he was having with Mrs. Gosselin.”

Gosselin’s lawyer countered that TLC has “treated (him) like a dog by attempting to keep him on a leash and muzzle him.”
