Vern and Patti Oertel will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house at their home on Saturday.

Their children and spouses are: Michael and Anne Oertel, Dublin, Calif.; Debbie and Don Tesdahl, Cusick, Wash.; and Robbi and Bob Abel, Liberty Lake.

The couple were married Nov. 14, 1959, in Spokane. They have seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter on the way.
