Vandals hang on to win

DEKALB, Ill. — Nathan Enderle threw three touchdown passes and De’Maundray Woolridge rushed for another to lead Idaho to a 34-31 victory Saturday over Northern Illinois.
The Vandals (3-1) claimed a 7-3 lead on a 26-yard second-quarter pass play from Enderle to Daniel Hardy and never trailed again. Enderle also threw scoring strikes of 21 yards to Deonte Jackson and 58 to Princeton McCarty.
Enderle was 18 of 23 for 270 yards, Woolridge rushed for 144 yards on 19 carries, and Trey Farquhar hit two second-half field goals.
Northern Illinois scored twice in less than three minutes to cut the margin to 34-31 with 5:51 to play. But the Vandals marched from their own 20 to inside the Huskies’ 10 to run out the clock.
Chandler Harnish threw TD passes to Willie Clark and Landon Cox, Me’co Brown ran for a score and Mike Salerno kicked three field goals for NIU (2-2).
