Singer Erykah Badu faces a disorderly conduct charge for her nude music video shoot in downtown Dallas’ Dealey Plaza.

Badu, a Dallas native, performed a walking striptease in front of tourists and pedestrians during the March 13 shoot for her “Window Seat” music video.

It ended with a nude Badu acting out being shot in the head at the spot where President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963.

Disorderly conduct is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $500.

“After much discussion, we feel that these charges best fit her conduct,” a police spokesman said. “She disrobed in a public place without regard to individuals and small children who were close by.”

He added that the department has had “people calling from all across the country to express their concern.”

Refugees from publicity

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt visited Bosnia on Monday to spotlight the plight of 117,000 refugees, even though the Bosnia war ended 15 years ago.

But they tried to do so while evading the spotlight themselves: There were no reported media sightings of the celebrity couple.

Girls’ school materializes

Madonna, meanwhile, started her weeklong charity tour of Malawi, from which she has adopted two children.

On Tuesday, she laid the first brick of her Raising Malawi Academy for Girls, scheduled to open in 2011.
