E3 Washington web tool benefits environmental and sustainability outreach

Making connections for environmental and sustainability educators just got a whole lot cooler! The Environmental Education Association of Washington launched its highly anticipated E3 Washington interactive website. “E3” stands for education, environment, and economy. The website was developed using funds from Ecology’s Public Participation Grant program. The E3 web site will allow public employees, educators, business, tribal leaders and youth to connect to share success stories and news of events and resources across the state. The launch of the website also signals a leap into action. E3 leaders and participants are moving from building a comprehensive environmental education plan to executing it. Users of the website will be able to: • Learn about the E3 Washington initiative to create a system of education for sustainable communities. • Discover local, regional, and statewide programs for environmental and sustainability education. • Keep up-to-date about environmental and sustainability education across the state through news, events, jobs, and endorsement pages. • Get connected through E3’s unique searchable Network Directory. Users can find a person, program, curriculum, report, article, or other resources. E3 Washington expands the historic perspective of environmental education to include all aspects of outreach. It is not just about K-12 Education, but includes outreach to a variety of sections including business, agriculture, and technical and higher educational institutions. Our region has a variety of resources that can benefit all environmental and sustainability practitioners. Whether your program promotes green building, reducing toxic threats, sustainable agriculture, or stormwater management E3 Washington can put our resources into the hands of users.
