NBA: Mickael Pietrus scored all 12 of his points in the fourth quarter and Jameer Nelson hit a big 3-pointer in the closing minutes, leading the Orlando Magic to a 98-92 win over the host Cleveland Cavaliers, who rested LeBron James for the playoffs.

Pietrus was a matchup nightmare in the playoffs last season for Cleveland, averaging 13.9 points in the Eastern Conference finals when the Magic beat the Cavs in six games. He made a pair of 3s to open the fourth and Nelson hit his with 2:53 left to put Orlando ahead 96-88.

Dwight Howard scored 22 points with 13 rebounds and six blocks for Orlando.

Delonte West had 21 points and Mo Williams had 19 with nine assists for the Cavaliers.

Blazers beat Lakers, improve playoff position: Martell Webster hit three free throws with 3.1 seconds left, and the Portland Trail Blazers improved their chances of avoiding the Los Angeles Lakers in the playoffs with a 91-88 victory over the defending NBA champions at Los Angeles.

Kobe Bryant and Derek Fisher combined to miss three free throws in the final 6.9 seconds, and Pau Gasol missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer for the top-seeded Lakers, who have lost six of nine.

The Blazers lost leading scorer Brandon Roy at halftime with a sore right knee.

Portland (49-31) also snapped a five-game road losing streak against the Lakers while moving into a seventh-place tie with San Antonio in the Western Conference standings.

Noah, Rose lead Bulls over Raptors: Derrick Rose scored 26 points, Joakim Noah had 18 points, 19 rebounds and seven assists and the visiting Chicago Bulls beat the Toronto Raptors 104-88 to take over eighth place in the Eastern Conference.

Chicago has won eight of 12 since Noah returned from a foot injury that forced him to miss 10 games. The Bulls went 0-10 without him.

Sonny Weems and Andrea Bargnani each scored 18 points for the injury-riddled Raptors, who lost their fifth straight.

Heat tie for fifth place after win: Dwyane Wade scored 32 points and the Miami Heat pulled into a tie for fifth place in the Eastern Conference with a 111-98 victory over the New York Knicks on the road.

Michael Beasley added 16 points, and Udonis Haslem and former Knicks forward Quentin Richardson had 14 apiece for the Heat, who won for the 10th time in 11 games and joined the Milwaukee Bucks at 45-35.

Warriors rally to beat Thunder: Monta Ellis scored 27 points in his return following a two-week absence, Stephen Curry added 25 and the Golden State Warriors overcame a 20-point deficit to beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 120-117 at Oakland, Calif.

The Warriors missed three free throws in the final 53 seconds but held on to win when Kevin Durant’s 3-point attempt with a second left bounced off the back of the rim.

Durant finished with 40 points for Oklahoma City, which dropped into the eighth seed in the Western Conference with two games remaining.

Source: Holmes traded to Jets

NFL: A person familiar with the deal says the New York Jets have acquired wide receiver Santonio Holmes from the Pittsburgh Steelers for a fifth-round draft pick this month.

The person spoke with the Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the teams had yet to announce the trade Sunday night.

Holmes, the 2009 Super Bowl MVP, gives quarterback Mark Sanchez another big-time target to throw to in an offense that already had Braylon Edwards, Jerricho Cotchery, promising tight end Dustin Keller and recently signed running back LaDainian Tomlinson.

Holmes has 235 career catches for 3,835 yards and 20 touchdowns, but also brings his share of off-field issues, which could explain the relatively low price the Jets paid to get him.

Wawrinka wins Casablanca title

Tennis: Top-seeded Stanislas Wawrinka beat Romania’s Victor Hanescu 6-2, 6-3 to win the Grand Prix Hassan II at Casablanca, Morocco.

The Swiss player broke Hanescu twice in the first set and held serve despite landing only 40 percent of his first serves and double-faulting twice.

Wawrinka will face Hanescu again on Tuesday, at the Monte Carlo Masters.

Chela beats Querrey in Clay Court Champs: Juan Ignacio Chela of Argentina won his first tournament in over three years with a 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 victory against American Sam Querrey at the U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championships at Houston.

The unseeded Argentine turned aggressive in the second set and pulled away from the hard-serving Querrey for his fifth tour championship and his first since beating Carlos Moya in Acapulco in March 2007.

Wozniacki wins Ponte Vedra: Top-seeded Caroline Wozniacki took advantage of mistakes by Olga Gorvotsova to defend her title at the MPS Group Championships, winning the final 6-2, 7-5 at Ponte Vedra, Fla.

Wozniacki came back from a 4-1 deficit in the second set.

Pennetta takes home Andalucia title: Second-seeded Flavia Pennetta beat Carla Suarez Navarro 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 to win the Andalucia Open at Marbella, Spain.

The 16th-ranked Italian player served up six aces and broke her Spanish opponent seven times on the outdoor clay to take her first title of the season in just over two hours.

Portsmouth reaches FA Cup final

Miscellany: Portsmouth reached the FA Cup final, scoring twice in extra time to beat Tottenham 2-0 in a big upset at Wembley, England. The victory came a day after the 2008 winners were relegated from the Premier League in a season in which crippling debt almost put the club out of business.

Frederic Piquionne broke the deadlock in the ninth minute of extra time. Former Spurs midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng added a penalty kick 18 minutes later.

Cancellara wins second Paris-Roubaix: Fabian Cancellara of Switzerland won the Paris-Roubaix, capturing the race for the second time and claiming his second victory in a one-day classic in eight days at Roubaix, France.

Cancellara won by two minutes after dominating a field that included three-time winner Tom Boonen of Belgium.

Thor Hushovd of Norway was second and Juan Antonio Flecha of Spain was third, also two minutes behind. They were followed by Roger Hammond of Britain and Boonen.
