GU presents former Met concertmaster
Elmira Darvarova, former concertmaster of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, will be the featured soloist with the Gonzaga Symphony Orchestra on Monday.
Darvarova, who is artistic director of the New York Chamber Music Festival, will perform Brahms’ Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 77.
The program also includes Liszt’s “Les Preludes,” Mascagni’s Intermezzo from “Cavallera Rusticana” and Rossini’s Overture to “William Tell.”
The concert begins Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox, 1001 W. Sprague Ave. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and seniors, through The Fox box office (509-624-1200).
