In brief: Ferris Saxons handle CV Bears

If the Ferris Saxons still have their football legs, they didn’t show it Tuesday.

Ferris stymied the visiting Central Valley Bears with defense and got rolling in transition as the Saxons won going away 82-52 in Greater Spokane League boys basketball action.

The Saxons (1-1, 1-0) limited the Bears to 26 points through three quarters. CV doubled its score with 26 points in the final period.

Taylor Kamitomo led Ferris with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Riley Stockton added 17 points and six assists. Eli Wiecking and Gaven Deyarmin each had 10 point to lead the Bears.

Rogers 82, Mt. Spokane 66: The Pirates (3-1, 3-0) remained unbeaten in league, outscoring the visiting Wildcats (1-2, 0-2) in each quarter.

Deavon Daniels and Therone Tillet led Rogers with 25 points apiece. Daniels also had 14 rebounds. Hunter Hahn led Mt. Spokane with 25 points.

Gonzaga Prep 67, Mead 40: The host Bullpups’ defense clamped down in the first half.

The Bullpups (2-1, 2-0) held Mead (2-3, 1-2) to 15 points in the first half. Parker Kelly led G-Prep with 23 points. He hit 7 of 13 shots from the field, including 3 of 5 from 3-point range. Tim Cater led Mead with 12.

University 57, North Central 37: The visiting Titans (4-0, 3-0) led by just a point at halftime before holding the Indians (1-3, 1-2) to eight points in the final two quarters.

NC made just 3 of 21 shots from the field in the second half. Zech Martin led U-Hi with 12 points.

Shadle Park 80, Lewis and Clark 58: The visiting Highlanders (2-3, 1-2) broke through for their first league victory in impressive fashion.

The Highlanders led 41-30 by halftime and continued the solid offensive pace in the second half. Brett Boese led Shadle with 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting. Austin Dixon led LC (0-5, 0-3) with 15 points.
