Eastern Washington Eagles
RECORD: 6-17 overall, 2-7 Big Sky
COMING UP: Sunday at Sacramento State, 1:05 p.m.
OUTLOOK: One of Eastern’s two Big Sky wins came at home against the Hornets in late December. That 79-75 victory snapped a five-game losing streak for the Eagles, who are on another downward slide as they head to Sacramento hoping to put the brakes on their current six-game skid. Although cellar-dwelling Sacramento State (8-15, 2-8) is a half-game behind Eastern in the BSC standings, Eagles coach Kirk Earlywine is expecting another grinder of a game. “They are playing much better,” he said of the Hornets, noting last Saturday’s 72-55 road win over Idaho State, a team that dumped his Eagles 80-74 in Pocatello just six days earlier.
