GoodDog store opens on Government Way

About anything possible for dogs (and cats) is available at the GoodDog store, which opened last week at 3115 Government Way. Owner Pam Nordby said the inventory includes top-of-the-line foods, toys, apparel, collars, leashes, carrying bags, backpacks (even ones that hold water), crates, car seats and treats.

Nordby previously was employed at Daisy’s Pet Boutique and decided to open her own store when Daisy’s closed. Her clientele include Daisy’s previous customers. A portion of proceeds from Saturday’s grand opening was donated to the Kootenai County Dog Park Association.

Born in St. Louis, Nordby came to North Idaho in 1977 from Amarillo, Texas. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Call (208) 664-GDOG.

Kelly’s pub opens

Lunches, dinners, appetizers and beverages that could be green, especially on St. Patrick’s Day, are offered at Kelly’s Irish Pub. Owner Walter Keith opened the revamped place last week in the store that formerly was Grumpy’s Restaurant at 726 Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene.

With bar and table seating for 50 customers and a room in the back for special events, the menu includes mozzarella sticks, wings and mushroom cap appetizers. Lunches (and dinners) have salads, burgers and sandwiches, including the place’s specialty Reuben, Blarney, Sligo, Blue and Prime Minister. Dinner specialties include seafoods, steaks, pork loins and roast beef. India Pale Ale highlights the list of beers and wines.

Originally from Belmar, N.J., Keith has been a fisherman, fireman and policeman and has had Kelly’s locations in different places for 14 years before coming to Coeur d’Alene from Savannah, Ga.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Keith will have up to 15 employees. Call (208) 667-1717.

Scrappy Chic’s opening

Anything needed for scrapbooking, stamping and card-making and classes to do them are offered at Scrappy Chic’s Boutique, opening this week between Staples and Rite Aid in Ironwood Square, Coeur d’Alene.

The family business includes sisters Kristin Ristic and Laura Memmott and mom Sharon Brunner. They came to North Idaho in 2005 from San Diego and previously operated Scrappin’ on the Boulevard on Northwest Boulevard.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays. Call (208) 765-3994.

•Papa John’s Pizza in Ironwood Square has closed. In fact, the 12-store franchise closed in the Greater Spokane area. Starting in 1983, Papa John’s had about 3,000 locations with its headquarters in Louisville. Bronzage Tanning Salon in Ironwood Square also closed.

•Keller Williams Real Estate opened a Sandpoint branch at 212 N. First Ave. Peggy Sawicki is the broker with 12 associates. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and Sunday by appointment. (208) 265-2020.
