Pirates third in NWC

Leah Pomante scored 20 points as Whitworth won its regular-season finale, beating Linfield 65-56 in McMinnville, Ore.

The Pirates (14-11, 10-6 NWC) earned the third seed in the Northwest Conference tournament. Whitworth plays second-place Puget Sound on Thursday in Tacoma.

UCLA 93, Washington State 58: Jasmine Dixon recorded a double-double, scoring 16 points and pulling down 10 rebounds, to lead the host Bruins to their 20th straight win over the Cougars. Carly Noyes led WSU (7-19, 2-13 Pac-10) with 15 points and five rebounds.

Eastern Washington 71, Northern Arizona 64: Down 14 points with 5:24 to play, the Eagles outscored the Lumberjacks 24-3 the rest of the way to earn a win in Cheney. Tatjana Sparavalo scored 21 off the bench to lead Eastern Washington (17-9, 10-3 Big Sky).

Idaho 60, New Mexico State 59: Shaena Keuhu’s bucket gave the Vandals their first lead with 1 minute to play, and Idaho (7-18, 5-7 WAC) survived four lead changes in the final minute to beat the visiting Aggies. Yinka Olorunnife had 15 points and 11 rebounds for her 16th career double-double.

USC 56, Washington 51: The Trojans held the visiting Huskies scoreless in the final 2 minutes, 41 seconds to earn a win. Kristi Kingma led Washington (9-16, 4-11 Pac-10) with 15 points.

CC Spokane 75, Columbia Basin 63: The Sasquatch rallied from a five-point halftime deficit to beat the Hawks in a NWAACC contest at Spokane Community College. Meghan Eisenmann scored 25 to lead CCS (16-8, 8-5).

Southern Idaho 83, Northern Idaho 65: The Golden Eagles moved into a tie for second place in the SWAC with Snow and North Idaho with a win over the Cardinals in Twin Falls, Idaho. Kama Griffitts led NIC (21-6, 12-6) with 17 points.
