Steven walks back their way
After public squabbling, threats of a lineup change and a rehab stint, Aerosmith is back.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers have announced their “Cocked, Locked and Ready to Rock” European summer tour, opening June 10 in Sweden – with Steven Tyler.
The band posted a video on its Web site in which Tyler jokes: “I just auditioned and I got the gig.”
“We’re coming your way and rocking your world!” he adds, looking at guitarist Joe Perry, as the group breaks out in laughter.
Aerosmith had been in limbo since Tyler fell off a stage during an August concert in South Dakota, forcing the band to cancel the rest of its tour.
Perry said Tyler needed to get his act together, while Tyler was quoted as saying he was interested in going solo.
In December, he checked in to rehab for a painkiller addiction, which he blamed on years of injuries suffered onstage.
Houston has no problems?
Though reviews of her recent performances in Australia have been less than flattering, Whitney Houston insists her tour is going great.
“Whitney is in great health and having a terrific time on her tour and with her fans,” her rep says.
Disgruntled fans have complained about her voice and performance. Video snippets of Houston struggling to hit notes have circulated widely online.
Livin’ on a prayer
Jon Bon Jovi’s new tour will include some unusual stops: A shelter for hardcore alcoholics in Seattle. A tour of Skid Row in Los Angeles.
The singer plans on visiting homeless shelters and programs in hopes of getting ideas for his work with his Soul Foundation.
