Pilkinton paces Pirates past Pacific

Cassie Pilkinton scored 23 points, including 19 in the first half, and the Whitworth women’s basketball team held Pacific to 25 percent shooting to earn an 80-57 win in Northwest Conference action Friday at Whitworth Fieldhouse in Spokane.

Led by Pilkinton in the first half, the Pirates (6-6, 2-1) outscored the Boxers (4-6, 1-2) 26-6 in the first 6 minutes.

•Kyla Evans led Eastern Washington (8-6, 2-0) with 17 points and the Eagles ended a seven-game losing streak to Montana, beating the Grizzlies (7-8, 2-1) 67-64 in overtime in Cheney.

•North Idaho (14-2, 5-2) knocked off College of Southern Idaho (12-5, 4-3) with a 66-54 win in Coeur d’Alene. No other details were available.

Men’s basketball

Renado Parker had 13 points and 11 rebounds, Michael Hale III added 17 points and North Idaho (15-2, 5-2) outscored College of Southern Idaho (11-6, 3-4) by eight in the second half to earn an 80-69 victory in Scenic West Athletic Conference action in Coeur d’Alene.
