Holy Names Music Center Classes - A variety of 10-week music classes will be offered including Music Together for ages baby-kindergarten and their parents, begins today at 11 a.m., $195; Young Voices Sing for ages 8-13, begins today at 5:30 p.m., $90; and Alexander Technique Classes, begins Jan. 21 at 6 p.m. or Jan. 23 at 1 p.m., $175. Call for writers
Children’s Poetry Contest – Spokane County students from grades 1-12 are invited to submit up to three poems no longer than 21 lines each. Finalists will be read onstage by Spokane-area actors during the Get Lit! literary festival in April 2010. Winning author will receive a free class at the Spokane Civic Theatre Academy. Poems may be on any subject appropriate for a family audience and should be the original work of the author. Entry deadline is Jan. 31.
