Cataldo presents a musical

Cataldo Catholic School students will dance and sing when they perform the musical comedy “Dear Edwina Junior” on Feb. 4 and Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. at University High School.

The performance is about 12-year-old Edwina and her advice-giving extravaganza, The Dear Edwina Show. The show’s music is by Jenna Solberg and is directed by Maria Caprile.

Tickets are $3 in advance and $5 at the door.

Mead High among top schools

Mead High School was recently awarded silver medal status as part of the third annual U.S. News and World Report study on America’s Best High Schools, according to a newsletter from Mead Principal Ken Russell.

Russell states that the U.S. News and World Report study demonstrates student achievement of both state academic standards in reading and mathematics and student achievement of college-level academic standards in subjects including calculus, statistics, physics, biology, environmental science, government and politics, U.S. history, world history, language, literature, French, music theory, art studio and art history.

St. Patrick’s plans spaghetti dinner

St. Patrick’s School, 2706 E. Queen Ave., will host the second annual Italian dinner to benefit the school on Jan. 30 from 3 to 8 p.m.

Attendees can enjoy the Gonzaga University men’s basketball game on TV while they dine on an authentic Italian meal, catered by Mamma Mia’s Ristorante and Pizzeria.

Cost is $10 per person and $5 for children 5 and younger.

Continuous Curriculum plans open house

The East Valley School District Continuous Curriculum School, 16924 E. Wellesley Ave., will hold an open house and ice cream social next Thursday, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The event will give the community the opportunity to learn about the Continuous Curriculum School, ask questions and tour the classrooms.
