Rob Lowe is leaving ABC’s “Brothers & Sisters” at the end of this season.

Lowe plays Sen. Robert McCallister, who is married to Calista Flockhart’s character, Kitty. He has appeared on the Sunday night drama for four seasons.

Lowe’s publicist said he’s in talks with ABC for his own show.

This isn’t the first time Lowe has left a role where he’s part of an ensemble. He exited NBC’s “The West Wing” in 2003 to star in “The Lyon’s Den.” That show was canceled after six episodes aired.

‘Bam!’ in prime time

Emeril Lagasse is launching a new weekly prime-time series that will mix equal parts music, celebrities and food.

Like Lagasse’s long-running Food Network series, “Emeril Live!”, his new hourlong “The Emeril Lagasse Show” on the ION Television network will be taped before a live audience and feature a band on set.

It will air Sundays at 8 p.m. beginning March 28.

The Food Network ceased production of “Emeril Live” in 2007. Lagasse continues to host “Emeril Green,” a Planet Green cable series in which he helps novice cooks prepare wholesome meals.

Harvey enters the fray

The TV game show “Family Feud” is getting a new referee.

Series producer FremantleMedia North America said comedian Steve Harvey will take over as host from John O’Hurley when the syndicated show begins its new season next fall.

Harvey’s TV credits include “Me and the Boys” and “The Steve Harvey Show,” and he was part of the “Kings of Comedy” stand-up tour and DVD. He hosts a nationally syndicated radio program.

O’Hurley, who has hosted “Family Feud” for four seasons, says he decided to focus on his role in the touring production of the musical “Chicago” and a variety of business ventures.
