In brief: Centennial offers food, cars, games

KOOTENAI – The city of Kootenai will have its Centennial Celebration at Kootenai City Park, 200 Spokane St., on Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The celebration includes the Injectors Car Club Showcase from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., a pancake breakfast sponsored by the Shriners from 8 to 11:30 a.m., and a barbecue lunch sponsored by the Shriners from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Kids can enjoy games and a bouncing castle.

Free barbecue

at Garden Plaza

POST FALLS – The Garden Plaza of Post Falls, including Garden Plaza Independent Living, The Bridge Assisted Living, and Life Care Center of Post Falls, will have a barbecue Friday, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The festivities include the bluegrass band The Dead Fiddlers Society, face painting, hamburgers, hot dogs, snow cones and more.

The event is free and open to the public.
