2010 Pokemon TCG Spokane Valley Battle Road Tournament - The Pokemon TCG Battle Road Spring Tournament is part of the premier event series where participants in each of the three POP-recognized age divisions battle to earn Premier Rating points toward a potential invitation to the World Championships in August; 1 p.m. Spokane Valley Mall, Uncle’s Games, second level, 14700 E. Spokane Carvers Association Ninth Annual Rendezvous – Through Saturday. A fun event featuring carving instruction by a variety of individuals including chip carving, relief carving, in-the-round and wood burning. Breakfast and lunch are available for all participants, and a potluck dinner will be held on Friday and a barbecue on Saturday. All events are open to everyone and camping not required. Spokane Valley Heritage Museum - “On A Wing & A Prayer,” aviation history of Felts Field profiling our local pioneer aviators (Nick Mamer, Jack Fancher, Buell Felts), the formation of the Washington Air National Guard, the 1927 visit by Charles Lindbergh, and “Visionary Women,” women who shaped the history of the Spokane Valley, through Sept. 16. Spokane Valley Relay for Life - Fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money to help the American Cancer Society save lives, help those who have been touched by cancer, and empower individuals to fight back against this disease. During the event, teams of people take turns walking or running laps around the field. Each team keeps at least one team member on the track at all times. Friday

Railway Historical Society open house - Visitors can view the museum in vintage rail cars, ride a 2-foot-gauge train, learn about the history of railroading in Spokane and participate in hands-on activities.
