Pe Ell 66, Liberty Christian 41

Tournament MVP Hank Robinson scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Trojans past the Patriots in the championship game. Pe Ell got some separation in the second quarter and blew the game open in the third quarter.

Tyler Ratkie added 16 points and joined Daniel Duncan and reserve Lerry Tolliver with three assists. The Trojans dominated the boards 44-23 with Joseph Vetter grabbing nine.

Jake Siefken led the Patriots with 11 points.

Bear Creek School 63, Colfax 33

Lucas Peterson scored 17 of his 28 points before halftime and the Grizzlies (22-2) never let the Bulldogs (16-8) get anything going, cruising to a victory to take fifth place.

Colfax had experienced both feast and famine from beyond the arc at the state tournament, but itsfinal game was more famine as the Bulldogs made only 6 of 28 3-point attempts and shot 23.1 percent from the floor. Tanner Gay led with 11 points, while tournament mainstays Caleb Bravard and Brandon Gfeller were held to three points combined. Bravard went 0 of 6 from 3-point range and was held scoreless for the first time.

The Grizzlies took full advantage, jumping out to a 16-2 lead after one quarter of play and holding Colfax to 11 first-half points. Ryan Strandin played without equal in the paint for the Grizzlies, tallying 16 points and a game-high 17 rebounds and physically dominating the action around the basket.

Senior Jamie Meyer, who had been the Grizzlies most valuable player during the week’s action, added 13 points in his final game as a Grizzly.

Reece Stanley tallied 24 points and 18 rebounds for the Tigers (13-11), and the Warriors (15-7) never recovered from a four-point second quarter.

Napavine, which finished in fourth place, shot only 42.3 percent from the floor but dominated the paint, collecting 46 rebounds to the Warriors’ 22. The Tigers converted 19 second-chance points off 15 offensive boards.

Finding themselves out-manned in the post after enjoying great success there against Entiat the night before, Chief Leschi tried to play the game from 3-point territory. The Warriors went just 5 of 25 from beyond the arc, including 1 of 7 from Joey Bisson, who was held to three points.

The Tigers played the part of aggressor, getting to the line 25 times and converting on 19, while the Warriors went only 2 of 5 from the stripe.

Davenport 53, La Conner 45

In a game that was close through three quarters, Davenport pulled away at the free-throw line in the final period, downing La Conner in the third-place game.

The Gorillas shot 19 for 24 from the stripe in the game, and Jared Gunning and Morgan Scharff tied for the team lead in points for Davenport (23-7), pouring in 12 apiece.

La Conner (22-6) cut the Davenport lead to five points late in the fourth quarter after Joey Gunning’s layup made it an 11-point game with 2:08 to go.
