The third time is no charm

Lil Wayne
From Wire Reports

Lil Wayne is behind bars – finally.

First, the rapper’s sentencing for attempted criminal possession of a weapon was postponed in February so he could undergo surgery on his bejeweled teeth.

Then, a fire shut down Manhattan’s main criminal courthouse while he was on his way there last week.

But on Monday, he was sentenced to one year in jail for having a loaded gun on his tour bus in July 2007.

The 27-year-old Grammy winner could be released from Rikers Island in about eight months with good behavior.

His “Tha Carter III” was the best-selling album of 2008 and won a Grammy for best rap album. His latest album, “Rebirth,” was released last month.

“Law is mind without reason … I’ll return,” he wrote to his fans on Twitter.

Time to change partners

Former “Dancing With the Stars” winner Brooke Burke will be Tom Bergeron’s new co-host when the reality series starts again March 22.

Burke, who won the competition in November 2008, will replace Samantha Harris.
