Ferris wins on walk-off hit

After North Central intentionally walked the bases loaded, Beau Bozett hit a game-winning RBI single off the top of the fence, missing a grand slam by inches but lifting the Ferris baseball team to a 4-3 Greater Spokane League victory Tuesday at Ferris.

The Saxons (3-3) scored a pair in the sixth to pull even with NC (2-4) before the clinching run came in the bottom of the seventh.

In other GSL games, Joe Arlt went five innings, allowing just two hits, and Central Valley (5-0) used five runs in the bottom of the fourth to put away East Valley (1-3) 11-0 in five innings at CV. … Kelly Fitzpatrick and Preston Van Doren each tallied a pair of hits and a run scored and Matt Benner went 1 for 4 with two runs and three RBIs as Mt. Spokane (6-0) rolled over host Rogers (0-6) 13-4. Fitzpatrick also earned the win for the Wildcats, striking out five over six innings while allowing four runs on six hits. … Jake Schrader had three hits and five RBIs, hitting a grand slam in the fourth inning as Mead (4-0) poured it on with 19 runs on 11 hits, beating Shadle Park (1-5) 19-3 in five innings at SP.

•The Inland Empire League game between host Sandpoint and Moscow was postponed and will be played at 4 p.m. today.
