Ecology offers new resources for safer homes, communities
Household cleaners, yard and garden chemicals, paints, and used oil can easily accumulate in cupboards and on storage shelves. Many of these products are considered to be toxic hazards for you and your family. In addition, they find their way to the Spokane River, where they can cause ecological harm.
If you haven’t yet made the switch to buying safer products, proper disposal of household toxics contributes to a cleaner, safer home and environment. When materials are turned in at local drop off sites, 83 percent is recycled and the remainder is safely disposed. Keeping these household toxics out of the garbage, off the ground, and out of storm drains is important for our air, drinking water, and our river.
