Your week

YOUR HEALTH

With football season in full swing, you may find yourself eating a meal or two (or more) at a bar – but that doesn’t mean completely punting on nutrition.

Dietitians suggest asking that items be grilled or steamed instead of fried; choosing thin-crust pizza over deep dish (or, even worse, cheese-stuffed); picking pretzels or peanuts over prepackaged popcorn, which often is full of unhealthy fats; substituting mustard for mayo on burgers and dogs; and loading up on salsa instead of creamy dips and sauces.

YOUR HOME

Tiling just got a whole lot easier with Bondera TileMatSet.

The peel-and-stick adhesive mat takes the place of tile mastic for some interior applications. You just adhere the mat to the surface, apply the tiles and then grout the joints. It will even work over existing tile in some cases.

Bondera is available at Lowe’s stores. For more information, see www.bonderatilematset.com.

YOUR FOOD

Want a quick Asian-style meal but tired of takeout? Pacific Rim Glazed Flank Steak is an easy entree using store-bought teriyaki sauce mixed with onion and honey. For the recipe, see page C5.
