Basketball roundup: Post Falls High opens with win

Dani Failor led all scorers with 15 points and Josie Tennison added 14 as the Post Falls girls basketball team opened its season 1-0 with a 57-33 road win against Inland Empire League opponent Moscow (0-1) Saturday.

Abi Quinnett led the Bears with 11 points. Post Falls held Moscow to four points in the opening quarter and took a 31-22 lead into the half.

Lake City 69, Lakeland 28: Sydney Butler finished with 24 points, four assists and three steals and Jenna Lewis notched eight points and nine rebounds as the Timberwolves (1-0) jumped out to a 42-14 halftime lead to beat the Hawks (0-1) in their season opener in Rathdrum. The Hawks were outscored 26-3 in the second quarter as LC turned a five-point lead into a 28-point advantage by halftime.
