Prep roundup: Eagles stay atop GNL

Shaniqua Nilles recorded a match-high 10 kills Saturday and the West Valley volleyball team (9-0) swept host Deer Park (1-9) 3-0 in Great Northern League play.

The Eagles remained alone atop the GNL standings with three matches remaining.

In other GNL matches, Stephanie Logan had 11 kills and three aces and Pullman (9-1) remained close to WV with a 3-0 road sweep of Medical Lake (1-9). … Ashley Meyers had 11 kills and 16 digs to lead Clarkston (5-4) to a 3-0 win at Cheney (2-7).

• Great Northern: Annalisa Druffel scored Pullman’s first goal and assisted on another and the visiting Greyhounds (9-4-1, 7-3) knocked off Medical Lake (2-11, 1-9) 3-1. Pullman moved into second place with the win. … Courtney Hofsfeld registered two second-half goals and a pair of assists as West Valley (6-5-1, 6-3) rolled to a 5-0 victory at Deer Park (4-8-1, 3-6-1). The win put the Eagles into a tie for third place with Cheney with three matches remaining for both teams. … Alexa Shaw scored two goals and Alyssa Kirstein added another as Cheney (6-7, 6-3) thumped visiting Clarkston (1-11-1, 1-7-1) 4-0. … First-place East Valley was idle.
