Big Sky briefs: BC bounces back, beats Weber St.
Dave Shinskie rebounded from an interception on the first play of the season by throwing touchdowns on consecutive first-quarter drives Saturday and the Boston College Eagles rolled past the Weber State Wildcats 38-20 in nonconference play in Boston.
Boston College (1-0) led 31-10 at halftime in the first meeting between the teams. It’s the farthest east and north that Weber State (0-1) has played.
Montel Harris carried 19 times for 115 yards and DeLeon Gause returned an interception 66 yards for a score for the Eagles.
Montana 73, Western State 2: Montana returned three first-quarter interceptions for touchdowns and Justin Roper threw three second-half touchdown passes as the Grizzlies (1-0) manhandled the Division II Mountaineers (0-2) in Missoula.

McGhee, the first freshman to start at QB for MSU since Rob Stoltz in 1987, threw scoring passes of 32 yards to freshman wide receiver Tanner Bleskin and 51 yards to junior wide receiver Elvis Akpla, who also caught a 4-yarder from Kempt.
Idaho State 32, Montana Western 3: Kyle Morris threw for 190 yards and three TDs to lead the Bengals (1-0) to a nonconference win over the Bulldogs (0-2) in Pocatello, Idaho.
Morris, making his first collegiate start, connected with Roderick Rumble for a 49-yard score 18 seconds into the game. Morris was 18 for 27 with one interception.
Corey White carried the ball 15 times for 122 yards and Jahmel Rover finished with 90 yards rushing for the Bengals, who matched their victory total from all of last season.
Northern Colorado 54, Adams State 0: Andre Harris ran for three touchdowns and 154 yards as the Bears (1-0) beat the Division II Grizzlies (1-1) in Greeley, Colo.
Harris ran for scores of 7, 30 and 39 yards. Dylan Orms threw two TDs for the Bears, who had lost their last four openers.
