Mariners’ prospect ‘9 for 9’

Mariners prospect Leury Bonilla played all nine position Monday afternoon in Double-A West Tennessee’s season finale. He hit a home run and pitched a scoreless inning in the Diamond Jaxx’ 8-0 victory over the Chattanooga Lookouts.

The Dominican infielder – he usually starts at third base – began in center field and played one inning at each position. He caught a scoreless eighth inning and wrapped up the game as the pitcher, allowing one hit and striking out one. It was his third pitching appearance.
