In brief: Shrine Circus coming to mall

SPOKANE VALLEY – The El Katif Shrine Circus will be at the Spokane Valley Mall today through Sunday and will include the Liberty horses, the Wheel of Thrills, clowns and acrobats.

The show will be today at 7:30 p.m.; Friday at 3 and at 7:30; Saturday at 3 and at 7:30; and on Sunday at 1 and 5 p.m.

General admission tickets are $10 per person, and reserved seats are $15. A limited number of VIP seats are available for $20. Discounts are available for advance purchase by groups of 10 or more.

Tickets may be purchased at spokaneshrinecircus.com, at the box office on the day of show, or in advance at participating Albertsons supermarkets or the Spokane Valley Mall circus kiosk. Tickets may also be purchased in advance by calling the Shrine Circus office at (877) 469-9411.

Dance invites parents, kids

EMERSON/GARFIELD – Center Pointe, 1408 N. Washington St., will host the fourth annual “Stars of Hollywood” Father/Daughter – Mother/Son Dance on Saturday at 7 p.m.

The evening will include entertainment by magician Dick Frost and a chocolate dessert. Attendees may also get their photos taken to commemorate the event.

Youth for Christ fundraiser Monday

EMERSON/GARFIELD – Spokane Youth for Christ, a local nonprofit group with the goal to help at-risk youth from sixth to 12th grade, will have its annual community dessert and fundraiser on Monday at 7 p.m. at the Lincoln Center, 1316 N. Lincoln St.

Proceeds from the event will support ongoing work for youth in the West Central neighborhood, along with a new drop-in center in Hillyard.
