Arena Bowl tonight
The top two offenses in the high-scoring, pass-happy Arena Football League meet tonight in the indoor league’s championship game. The Arizona Rattlers (18-2) set a record for wins in a season while the Jacksonville Sharks (16-4) scored a league-best 64.3 points per game. The two teams meet at 5:30 p.m. (NFL Network) at the U.S. Airways Center in Phoenix for ArenaBowl XXIV, the second title game since the league declared bankruptcy. The Rattlers scored 61.9 points a game, second best in the league, in winning the National Conference and have run off 11 wins in a row. Quarterback Nick Davila earned most valuable player honors as the highest-rated passer in the league, throwing for 117 touchdowns in the 18-game regular season. – AP
