Charlston scores career-high 22 points in Idaho women’s win
Sophomore Alyssa Charlston scored 17 of her career-high 22 points in the first half Thursday night as Idaho (3-6) cruised past visiting Carroll (Mont.) College 63-40 in nonconference women’s basketball at Memorial Gym.
Charlston, who added a game-best nine rebounds, hit 7 of 10 from the floor and 7 of 8 from the free-throw line while playing 25 minutes.
The Vandals took control with a 13-0 run for a 15-2 lead. Idaho shot 16 of 21 from the line and outrebounded Carroll 52-38.
Alysha Green (Mead High) led the Saints (3-4) with nine points but finished 3 of 15 from the floor.
Women’s soccer
Freshman Alaina Webb, who anchored North Idaho’s record-setting defense, was named to the NJCAA All-American second team.
The Cardinals, who finished 14-2-1, set a record for fewest goals (11) allowed in a season.
