• Returning local placers (current weight): Jeremy Golding, Mead, 130, state champion; Jordan Rogers, 171, state champion, 2009; Jarod Maynes, CV, 125, 4th; Brenton Beard, CV, 130, 5th (2A); Russell Stinson, Ferris, 189, 7th.

• Outlook: Both CV and Mead have the numbers to be in the championship hunt in a wide-open team race.

Class 3A

• Last year’s champion: Yelm

• Favorites: University, Enumclaw, Yelm

• Returning local placers (current weight): Jared Berlinger, NC, 125, 2nd; Anthony Whitmarsh, NC, 215, 2nd; Tyler Clark, U-Hi, 112, 3rd ; Jake Laden, U-Hi, 215, 3rd; Mitchell Bocook, NC, 135, 4th; Dustin Johnson, U-Hi, 189, 4th; Darren Bunke, Shadle Park; 140, 5th; Dylan Lemery, Shadle, 189, 7th; Brandon Matlock, U-Hi, 8th, 119; Austin Pea, Mt. Spokane, 152, 8th.

• Outlook: Last year’s State 4A champion Titans, with a wealth of state-placing potential, can pick up a second straight team crown but will be without returning state placer Brandon Byers, who was injured at regionals.

Class 2A

• Last year’s champion: Deer Park

• Favorites: Deer Park, White River, Othello, Burlington-Edison

• Returning local placers (current weight): Jake Konzal, DP, 112, state champion; Cole Harris, DP, 119, 2nd; Billy Rhoads, DP, 145, 2nd; Shawn Burton, DP, 285, 2nd; Dylan Miller, DP, 160, 3rd; Logan Huckins, Cheney, 135 5th; Jaren Novakovich, EV, 119, 6th.

• Outlook: DP’s Stags are going for their fourth straight State 2A team championship.

Class 1A

• Last year’s champion: Orting

• Favorites: Orting, Zillah, Granger, Omak

• Returning local placers (current weight): Josh Lauderdale, Lakeside, 140, 2nd; Will Peters, Chewelah, 285, 2nd; Michael Baumgarden, Lakeside, 119, 3rd; Chase Flores, Riverside, 145, 5th (2A); Nick DesRoches, 171, 5th (2A); Kit Major, Riverside, 130, 6th (2A); Dallas Watkins, Lakeside, 215, 6th.

• Outlook: Northeast A league, bolstered by the addition of Riverside and Colville, bounced back this year with nine regional championships and 26 state qualifiers.

Class B

• Last year’s champion: Reardan

• Favorites: Warden, Kittitas, Reardan

• Returning local placers (current weight): Kaare Anderson, Reardan, 145, state champion; Logan Zunker, Reardan, 160, state champion; Emery Maupin, Selkirk, 112, 2nd; Conan Kalugin, Springdale, 130, 2nd; Daniel Stauffer, Davenport, 140, 2nd; Waylen Anderson, Reardan, 145, 2nd; Wyatt Anderson, Reardan, 152, 2nd; Kelan Sax, 171, Selkirk, 2nd; Niko Knezovich, Reardan, 189, 2nd; Gabe Miller, Reardan, 285, 3rd; Charlie Eldred, Reardan, 152.

• Outlook: Eastern schools dominated state last year and there’s no reason to expect less. The addition of Warden from 1A puts pressure on defending champion Reardan.
