RECORD: 14-11 overall, 7-6 WAC

COMING UP: Saturday at Montana State, 6:05 p.m.

OUTLOOK: After the biggest win of the Don Verlin era against Utah State – followed by a second loss to Boise State in three weeks – the Vandals take a detour from their WAC schedule for an ESPN BracketBuster game at Montana State (11-15). Verlin had no issues with UI’s BracketBuster matchups the last two years with Long Beach State and Cal State Northridge. “But us getting a non-TV game and with the draw we got, it’s not great for us …” he said of this year’s game. Idaho’s 900-mile roundtrip by bus to Bozeman and back will be followed by games at Nevada and Utah State next week. Montana State has dropped eight straight games. Its last win came on Jan. 16 against Eastern Washington.
