Sidelined Saint Louis coach Rick Majerus will miss the next three games because he has an infected leg. Majerus, 62, missed most of the second half of Saint Louis’ loss to Bowling Green on Saturday after an accident. He collided with two players who had been diving for a loose ball, gashing his left leg, and left the bench when the wound began to bleed profusely.
Granted Oregon State flanker James Rodgers has been granted a medical hardship, meaning he can return for 2011. Rodgers, a senior, played in four of the team’s first five games this season before suffering a left knee injury that required surgery.
Introduced All-Star Adrian Beltre is taking over as the everyday third baseman for the A.L. champion Texas Rangers, and Michael Young is switching to designated hitter. The Rangers introduced Beltre as their new third baseman after the former Seattle Mariner agreed to a $96 million, six-year contract. Beltre, a two-time Gold Glove winner, hit .321 with 28 homers and 102 RBIs during his only season with Boston.
Finalized The Milwaukee Brewers finalized a $1.75 million, one-year contract with reliever Takashi Saito. The right-hander was 2-3 with a 2.83 ERA in 56 games for the Atlanta Braves last year.

• Oklahoma wrestling coach Jack Spates intends to retire after 18 years, saying that he expects to enter the campus ministry. Spates has led the Sooners to seven top-five finishes at the NCAA tournament since 2000.
Rescheduled Boxer Wladimir Klitschko’s defense of his WBO and IBF heavyweight titles against unbeaten British challenger Dereck Chisora has been rescheduled for April 30, somewhere in Germany. Klitschko was forced to pull out of the Dec. 11 bout because of an injury.
