In brief: Wade, Bosh may be back today

NBA: The ailing Miami Heat may not stay that way much longer.

Dwyane Wade (pictured) and Chris Bosh were both on the team flight to Oklahoma City, a sign that both may be in the lineup when the Heat visit the Thunder today (ABC, 10 a.m.). An MRI exam on Wade’s sore right wrist Saturday morning showed no structural damage, and Bosh’s sprained left ankle has improved in recent days.

Saint Mary’s ambushed

Men’s basketball: Two days after Saint Mary’s dealt Gonzaga a 73-71 loss in the West Coast Conference’s biggest game so far this season, the Gaels were handily defeated by host Portland 85-70 on Saturday.

Tim Douglas scored 26 points to lead the Pilots.

Saint Mary’s (18-4, 6-1) was looking to close the first half of the conference season without a loss. But Portland (16-6, 4-3) is 12-0 at the Chiles Center this season.

After a close first half, the Pilots blew the game open by outscoring the Gaels 27-2 right after halftime.

FBI on case of missing puck

NHL: The puck with which Blackhawks All-Star Patrick Kane scored the Stanley Cup-winning goal last year is missing and the FBI has offered to help a Chicago businessman try to find it.

Kane scored in overtime to beat the Flyers in Game 6 at Philadelphia in June. The puck has been missing since.

Chicago FBI spokesman Ross Rice told the Chicago Tribune that the bureau is helping with the search.

“The people who are doing this are doing it on their own time,” he told the newspaper. “They feel they are a part of history.”
