Dismissed A Nevada judge on Thursday dismissed a lawsuit filed by a nightclub bouncer against Floyd Mayweather Jr. that alleged the champion boxer and his entourage became violent after they were carded at a Las Vegas hotspot. Clark County District Judge Kenneth Cory dismissed the lawsuit without a hearing last week. The lawsuit was filed in May by Clay Gerling, a bouncer for the Drai nightclub at Bill’s Gamblin’ Hill on the Las Vegas Strip. The suit claimed Mayweather’s bodyguard choked Gerling after he asked Mayweather and his entourage for their identification cards In January 2010.

Released Utah law enforcement officers released the 911 tape in which Olympic silver medalist Jeret “Speedy” Peterson tells a dispatcher he’s about to kill himself. The U.S. freestyle skier made the call Monday shortly before shooting himself in a canyon near Salt Lake City. He was arrested in Idaho for drunken driving three days before his death. Initially calm, Peterson identifies his location. When the dispatcher asks him the nature of his emergency, Peterson tearfully tells her he’s going to kill himself and wants the police to come and get his body. Peterson won the silver medal in freestyle aerials at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.

Signed Butler’s Matt Howard and Shawn Vanzant are both going to Europe to play basketball. Howard, a forward from Connersville, Ind., agreed to play for the Greek team Olympiacos, the team announced. Vanzant, a guard from Tampa, Fla., will play in Finland.

Issued Former NBA player and ESPN analyst Jalen Rose was given a speeding ticket in suburban Detroit hours after he was sentenced to nearly three weeks in jail for drunken driving. Rose was clocked going 46 mph in a 25-mph zone shortly before 9 p.m. on Wednesday night, Clawson Police Chief Harry Anderson said. He was cited for going at least 10 mph over the limit.

Traded The New York Islanders acquired veteran Brian Rolston and a conditional draft pick in 2012 from the New Jersey Devils for forward Trent Hunter. Rolston, a four-time 30-goal scorer, spent the last three seasons with the Devils.

Signed The New York Liberty signed rookie center Ta’Shia Phillips and released forward Felicia Chester. The 6-foot-6 Phillips was picked eighth in this year’s draft by Atlanta and then dealt to Washington.

Injured Sporting Kansas City says rookie defender Aurelien Collin is expected to miss four to six weeks because of two small fractures in his lower back. The team said Collin was injured last Saturday in a 4-2 MLS win over Toronto.
