Body found along Hayden Lake trail

A man was found dead on Wednesday on a popular trail system north of Hayden Lake, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department reported. A horse rider found the man on the English Point trail system and notified 911 just before 7 p.m. The man was face down. Emergency workers and detectives walked into the spot and recovered the body after an investigation of the scene. The identity of the deceased was withheld pending notification of family members. The case remained under investigation today.
