‘Super 8’ today in IMAX

J.J. Abrams’ much-anticipated “Super 8” arrives a day early today in IMAX theaters, including Spokane’s AMC River Park Square 20.

The film about a group of young moviemakers who discover an alien in their small town circa 1979 is director Abrams’ homage to his boyhood hero, Steven Spielberg – who produced the film.

The regular theatrical run begins with midnight showings Friday at 12:01 a.m. at area theaters.
