Seahawks cut tight end Baker

NFL: The Seattle Seahawks released veteran tight end Chris Baker and quarterback Nate Davis, who was signed to a futures contract less than two months ago.

Seattle announced the moves Thursday.

Baker played one season with the Seahawks but appeared in all 16 regular-season games. He started 13 times, but was placed on injured reserve Jan. 4 after fracturing a bone in his hip against St. Louis. He finished the year with nine catches for 116 yards and one touchdown.

Davis signed with Seattle on Jan. 11.
