Arizona secures Pac-10 with win over Oregon

In Tucson, Ariz., Derrick Williams had 14 points despite early foul trouble and got plenty of help in what may have been his final home game, lifting No. 18 Arizona to a 90-82 win over Oregon and the outright Pac-10 title on Saturday.

Arizona (25-6, 14-4) already had earned a share of the title for the first time in six years and the McKale Center was juiced in anticipation of nets coming down.

The Wildcats put on quite a shooting show, hitting 11 3-pointers and shooting 56 percent overall to close out their first undefeated home season (17-0) in 12 years. Kyle Fogg led Arizona with 20 points and Solomon Hill added 14.

Oregon (14-16, 7-11) put up a fight, trimming a 17-point deficit early in the second half to six with 5 1/2 minutes left behind Joevan Catron (28 points).

California 74, Stanford 55: In Berkeley, Calif., Allen Crabbe scored 21 of his 24 points in the second half, Harper Kamp added 20 points and California beat Bay Area rival Stanford.

Markhuri Sanders-Frison had 13 points and 13 rebounds for Cal (17-13, 10-8).

Jeremy Green scored 19 points to lead Stanford (15-15, 7-11), which trailed by as many as 18 in the first half and failed to pull off its first season sweep in the rivalry since 2008.

Crabbe, who also had nine rebounds and five assists, hit his team’s first 3-pointer of the game with 15:16 left.

Arizona St. 80, Oregon St. 66: In Tempe, Ariz., five Oregon State players were benched for violating team rules and Arizona State went on to roll past the Beavers.

Seniors Ty Abbott and Rihards Kuksiks scored 22 and 18 points, respectively, as the Sun Devils (12-18, 4-14), the last-place team in the Pac-10, finished with three consecutive home victories.

Only six players played for the Beavers (10-19, 5-13), led by Roberto Nelson’s 34 points.
