Busch holds on for Fontana win
Auto racing: Kyle Busch (pictured above) used pit strategy to take a late lead and held off Carl Edwards and Kevin Harvick to win his third straight Nationwide race at Auto Club Speedway on Saturday at Fontana, Calif.
Edwards and Harvick traded leads for most of the 150-lap race around the wide 2-mile oval before deciding to get four tires on their final stop with less than 20 laps left.
Busch came in after and opted for two tires, putting him nearly a straightaway ahead after leaving pit road. He had just enough speed to survive a final-lap bump into the wall, winning for the fifth time his past six races at Fontana.

Buck picked D-III swimmer of year
Swimming: Whitworth’s Rory Buck shattered the NCAA Division III record in the 200-yard breaststroke and was named the Swimmer of the Year on Saturday night at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships in Knoxville, Tenn.
Buck, a junior, broke the national record in the 200 breaststroke twice on the day.
He initially broke the 10-year-old mark of 1:58.90 set by Joshua Boss of Hope in 2001 with a 1:58.08 in the morning preliminaries. He then broke his national mark six hours later by winning the event in 1:57.79.
Buck won his second individual NCAA title of the meet, following up on his championship in the 100 breaststroke on Friday.
Also, Whitworth freshman Kate Duvall earned her first career All-American finish by placing seventh in the 200 backstroke in 2:02.30, breaking her Northwest Conference record.
The Whitworth men finished in 15th place with 78 points. Denison College knocked off 31-time champion Kenyon by a single point.
Kenyon’s national championship run of 31 years was the longest in NCAA history in any sport at any level.
Whitworth was 41st in the women’s competition while Emory won.
