Whitworth tops Linfield
The Whitworth volleyball team is streaking again.
After having their 10-match win streak snapped on Oct. 7, the Pirates have won three in a row, including a sweep of Linfield (8-12, 3-8) in a Northwest Conference match Friday night in Spokane, 25-19, 25-19, 25-17.
Kaimi Rocha had 15 kills and six digs, Ka’ipo Rocha had 10 kills and Bree Riddle contributed 45 assists to lead Whitworth (15-5, 10-1).
The Pirates host Willamette at 7 tonight.
• Washington State won the first two games before falling to No. 18 Oregon (13-6, 6-5) in a Pac-12 Conference match in Eugene, Ore., 21-25, 17-25, 25-8, 25-13, 15-12.
Meagan Ganzer had 22 kills and Camryn Irwin had 42 assists and 10 digs for the Cougars.
WSU (11-10, 3-8) plays at Oregon State tonight.
• Cora Kellerman had 13 kills and Lindsey Petroni added 14 digs as Eastern Washington swept Idaho State 25-21, 25-20, 25-21 in a Big Sky Conference match in Pocatello.
Laney Brown had 19 assists and Shelby Puckett added eight kills and seven digs for the Eagles (9-11, 5-4).
EWU plays at Weber State today.
• Brigitte Lowe had 27 digs and 10 kills as Community Colleges of Spokane beat Yakima Valley (19-8, 6-4) 3-1 in an NWAACC match in Yakima.
Lindsay Bronkhorst had a match-high 49 digs for the Sasquatch (28-5, 9-1).
CCS hosts conference foe Treasure Valley on Friday.
• Savanah Leaf led four players in double figures with 19 kills and San Jose State beat Idaho 25-23, 18-25, 25-18, 19-25, 15-12 in a Western Athletic Conference match in San Jose, Calif.
Alicia Milo had 18 kills and 14 digs to lead the Vandals, who fell to 11-10 overall and 5-3 in the WAC. San Jose State improved to 9-13 and 4-5.
• Krista Vansant had 12 kills and 12 digs to lead No. 7 Washington (16-3, 8-3) to a 25-14, 25-21, 25-18 win over Oregon State (11-10, 3-8) in a Pac-12 Conference match in Corvallis, Ore.
Women’s soccer
Ally Holtz scored an unassisted goal in the 77th minute, giving Pepperdine (12-0-4, 4-0) a 1-0 win over Gonzaga in a West Coast Conference match in Malibu, Calif.
Gonzaga (7-7-2, 0-3-2) hosts Santa Clara at 1 p.m. Sunday.
• Ashley Folsom and Chelsea Buckland each scored in the first half and Oregon State (11-4-1) edged Washington State 2-1 in a Pac-12 Conference match in Corvallis.
Jocelyn Jeffers scored for the Cougars (10-5-2). WSU plays Sunday at Oregon.
• Utah State (12-4-1, 4-1) scored twice in the first 10 minutes and coasted to a 3-0 win over Idaho in a Western Athletic Conference match in Moscow.
Freshman forward Morgan Porter was forced to play goalkeeper for the Vandals, who fell to 6-9-3 overall and 2-3-1 in conference play.
Idaho hosts Nevada on Sunday.
• Lauren Jacobsen scored her first goal of the season in the fourth minute, but Northern Colorado tied it with a goal late in the match as the teams played to a 1-1 draw in a Big Sky Conference match in Cheney.
The tie officially knocked the Eagles (2-11-1, 1-4-1) out of postseason contention.
EWU’s final conference match of the season will be Sunday at Northern Arizona.
Men’s soccer
Aman Abdul and Jacob Hustedt scored as Washington (9-3-2, 4-2) clipped Stanford (4-8-2, 1-4-1) 2-1 in a Pac-12 Conference match in Seattle.
