Your week
YOUR HEALTH
Looking to lose weight? Try sniffing some peppermint.
A new study shows that volunteers who sniffed peppermint scent every two hours were not as hungry as nonsniffers and ate 2,800 fewer calories in a week. That’s enough to lose close to a pound.
Eating peppermint candy or chewing peppermint gum doesn’t work as well, researchers found.
The study used packaged peppermint inhalers available in nutrition stores or for $9.99 at sportsinhaler.com.

YOUR HOME
The Bagwell gives you an extra pair of hands in the kitchen.
The device is a small rack that holds a gallon-size plastic storage bag open, making it easier to fill. It’s also useful for holding a bag upside down to dry after you’ve washed it.
It’s dishwasher safe and folds flat for storage.
The Bagwell sells for $9.99 plus shipping and handling at www.thebagwell.com or (866) 962-7335.

YOUR FOOD
Meatloaf doesn’t have to mean beef. A turkey meatloaf topped with Italian-style mushroom and tomato sauce makes a quick, satisfying dinner for cooler evenings; for the recipe, see page C5.
