Cooler weather could stick around

A drop in temperatures this week could bring the first snowfall of the season to lower elevations, according to the National Weather Service. Highs today should reach the lower 50s, but wind gusts later today could make the weather feel more like winter. A cold front has moved through the region this morning bringing a change in the weather. Tuesday’s highs may only reach the upper 40s. By Wednesday, another cold front from the west could bring a distinct change in the weather with a chance of rain or snow. Forecasters said they expect light snow to accumulate on grassy surfaces, but no accumulation on pavement. Highs on Thursday and Friday may only make the lower to middle 40s. A 50 percent chance of rain or snow is expected. At 7 a.m, it was 36 at Spokane International Airport.
