Prep roundup: Vikings throttle Skyview
Senior Chad Chalich threw for 342 yards and four touchdowns, while running in two more scores as Coeur d’Alene dismantled Skyview (Vancouver, Wash.) 52-14 in a nonleague footballl game on Saturday.
Reece Mahaffy returned an interception 35 yards for a TD to put the Vikings up 18-0. They forced three more turnovers.
Carlos Martinez caught two TD passes, one for 48 yards and the other for 25. He also had a 16-yard TD run for the Vikings’ first score.
He finished with 187 all-purpose yards.
Chalich had 13 carries for 101 yards, including a 57-yard scamper in the third quarter.
CdA’s Bubba Duran had nine receptions for 150 yards.
Boys soccer
Adam Borsheim led Coeur d’Alene to an 8-1 Inland Empire League 5A victory over Lewiston with three goals of his own.
Borsheim scored all three goals in the first half.
Coeur d’Alene outshot Lewiston 16-3.
Girls soccer
Lily Weske and Kianna Aros scored goals as Kellogg shut out Bonners Ferry 2-0 in an Intermountain League match.
Both goals were unassisted and scored in the first half.
