UW’s Timu out of hospital, recovering

SEATTLE – Washington Huskies linebacker John Timu was released from Harborview Medical Center late Saturday night and is recovering well from the neck injury he suffered in the win over Cal earlier in the day.

Head coach Steve Sarkisian is expected to have a better update on his condition and availability at his noon news conference today.

Timu suffered a neck injury late in the third quarter of the 31-23 win, after he collided with teammate Alameda Ta’amu and had a Cal lineman inadvertently run into the back of his helmet as he went to the turf. Timu was eventually strapped to a stretcher and taken out of Husky Stadium in an ambulance.
